Happy 4th of July to the U.S.

I want to wish all my family and friends in the States, a safe and wonderful 4th of July! Today is a day to appreciate being born into a free country, which offers countless possibilities and opportunities.

It’s also a time to reflect on our behaviors and beliefs as well as respecting those who have differing opinions. With all the political turmoil going on in the U.S., whether you’re a liberal or conservative, respect is key for our country to move forward and continue as a strong nation. Fighting with one another because we don’t like or refuse to acknowledge other views will only cripple us. Be thankful you have a right to express yourself, and from that thankfulness, respect and honor other expressions.

Relax and enjoy with family and friends!

Instead of posting the anthem, I thought I’d post a video by one of my favorite rockers, John  Mellencamp (who I think is underrated), because Pink Houses reflects achievements but also the challenges of middle-class families all over America. It’s what our government should consider and thrive toward fixing the American dream that has crumbled over the years. Let’s come together and focus.

Although I live in Germany, and enjoy the life, I’m proud to be an American, to have been born on soil where bombs and bloodshed were not the norm.

God Bless America!

  1. Excellent choice of video there. Like you say Mellencamp is much underrated, but not by me.
