Wish Lists

Hello Lovelies,

We have definitely been having some serious bad weather in our area, BUT I haven’t let it cloud my vision.

I’m so happy to be able to celebrate a new year.

I’m so happy to be able to celebrate with you.

It’s a time for wish lists.

A check mark on our wish lists.

In order to complete a goal, wish, or dream, we need to make an effort and focus. Focus is key when it comes to achievement, otherwise, our monkey brains* take over, and we never get what we want, need, or anything else for that matter.

There are a few things that help me focus:

– knowing why I want to meet a particular goal or dream

– how I will benefit from it

– and making sure I have the means to achieve it

Of course, sometimes we have large, daunting goals with large daunting shadows. We’re unsure how to get started. During the holiday season, I usually take time out to reflect on what I had accomplished that year, and what I want to add to it. This is where I take into account the why, how, and means.

The why and how is usually answered early on, but the means sometimes keep us from moving forward.

This is where research comes in. I read about what I want to add to my wish list, and what I need to do to get there. Sometimes the simplest of tips and tricks moves me along.

So I suggest reflect on what it is you want to achieve. Ask yourself, why do you want to meet the goal or dream? How will you benefit from it? Then sit your butt down, and find the key to unlock the means.

One of my wish list items is genealogy. Many years ago, I started working on a family tree, but I abandoned it when I started getting a monthly bill. Over the last several years, I’ve been working on myself, inside and out, so I’m not surprised my interest in genealogy resurfaced. I’m very interested in knowing my mother and father’s side, along with other surprises. It will provide me with a deeper knowledge about myself and family.

On InterNations, I connected with someone and started talking about genealogy. He had been doing genealogy for many years and suggested the FamilyTreeDNA testing kit. After reading about the different DNA kits, I decided to get the FamilyTreeDNA test kit. I’m currently waiting for its arrival. In the meantime, I’m working on the family tree I had started on a few websites.

Recently, my husband warned me about it. He’s read several articles where through people’s DNA testing kits, police have tracked down their family members in regards to outstanding legal issues. YIKES!

I’d like to NOT think down those lines. Instead, I’m eager to find out just who I am!

What are you focused on?

Do you want to achieve an item on your wish list?

Have you started or you don’t know where to start?

Wishes and Focus,
Denise
